Initially the result of market forces, integration now is directed by states through special economic agreements, including free-trade areas. Dr. Plummer examined the stakes associated with rising Asian regionalization and prescribes a set of policy recommendations to build a solid US-Asian relationship in the future.\n\nDr. Plummer is Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Asian Economics. He is also Director of the American Committee for Asian Economic Studies (ACAES). He is a frequent consultant to states and international organizations, including the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).
